When you're buying or selling a home, especially in a unique market like the Denver Foothills, choosing the right real estate agent isn’t just helpful; it’s essential. Your agent becomes your guide, advocate, and negotiator during one of life’s most emotionally and financially significant experiences. So, how do you find the right one? The answer lies in asking the right questions.

And while you’re at it, I hope you’ll ask me these questions too, because I believe every client deserves clear answers and honest conversations.

Start with the Basics: Experience, Service, and Communication. Ask:

How long have you been working in this area?

How many transactions have you completed recently?

Do you work solo or with a team?

Experience in your local market makes all the difference. The Denver Foothills present unique challenges like septic systems, well water, mountain roads, and fluctuating seasonal demand. With deep knowledge of this area and a strong network of trusted vendors and local resources, I help clients navigate these factors with confidence.

And when it comes to service, I do things differently. As a small team, I’m personally involved in every step of the transaction. From digging through paperwork to coordinating yard work or scheduling inspections, I don’t shy away from doing what it takes to make your move smoother.

Dig Deeper: Values and Approach. Ask:

What is your communication style and availability like?

How do you handle conflicts or negotiations?

What happens if the deal doesn’t go as planned?

These are the questions that reveal how an agent will show up for you. My clients appreciate that I don’t sugarcoat things. I’ll tell you the truth, even when it’s not what you want to hear, because that honesty is what leads to better decisions and better results. I’m highly responsive, transparent, and committed to making sure you stay in control of the process.

Results Matter: Marketing and Strategy. Ask:

How will you market my property or help me find the right one?

Do you provide professional photos, staging, or video tours?

What’s your strategy for pricing or writing a competitive offer?

Marketing isn’t just about putting a listing on the MLS. It’s about creating a compelling story that resonates with the right buyers or helping buyers identify overlooked gems with real potential.

For buyers, my local expertise and strong relationships with other agents can mean early access to listings and stronger positioning in competitive situations.

Don’t Skip the Soft Skills. Ask:

What do past clients say about working with you?

What sets you apart from other agents in the area?

I was born into real estate, literally. My mother’s career inspired mine, and I’ve grown up understanding this business from both a professional and a personal perspective. I’ve bought, sold, and moved just like you. I know the weight of a big decision, the overwhelm of home repairs, and the emotional tug of leaving a space that holds your memories.

That’s why my clients trust me not just to “get the job done,” but to support them through it with compassion, tenacity, and clear, calm guidance.

Bonus: Red Flags to Watch For

Even if you don’t hire me, here’s what I hope you avoid:

  • Agents who pressure you to act quickly without context.

  • Agents who aren’t transparent about their commission or services.

  • Agents who give vague answers or avoid tough conversations.

  • Agents who hand you off to a team and disappear.

You deserve someone who’s all in for you, your timeline, and your goals.

Hiring a real estate agent shouldn’t feel like a gamble. It should feel like a partnership. So ask the tough questions. Look for transparency. And trust your instincts. When you're ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to show you exactly how I work and what I bring to the table.

With honesty, care, and a good work ethic, I’m here to help you turn your next move into a smooth, empowered experience. Whether you’re ready to list or just exploring your options, let’s connect
